ECN workshop: Nanotechnology and its implications to society: Training session on risks, benefits and governance
The first workshop on “Nanotechnology and its implications to society: Training session on risks, benefits and governance” will take place online on February, 28th.
The workshop aims to explore the concepts of risk assessment, risk governance and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-design for nanotechnology. Through a brainstorming session, the participants will explore some of the challenges associated with risk assessment and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-design, such as analysing information required for conducting risk assessment and addressing the safety and sustainability of nanotechnology.
Who is the workshop for?
We welcome all PhD students and post-docs profiles, the only requirement is that you work on “nano”. We would like to have varied backgrounds and research topics among the participants to make the workshop as enriching as could be!
What benefits do I get from this workshop?
At the hands-on session participants will explore and discuss the main elements of risk assessment such as hazard and exposure characterization for nanotechnology. They will also discuss how nanotechnology can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reflect on the potential impacts and their mitigation along the life cycle of a nano-application.
How long will it take me?
Only half a day! No need to travel, everything will be online!
How much do I need to pay?
Nothing! The workshop is completely free of charge.
Last but not least:
Only 15 participants will be able to join, so be sure to register soon! You can do so by sending an email to veronique@temasol.ch and tell her you’re interested. First come first served! 😉 the deadline for registration is February, 15th.
